WHY I AM LOOKING TO BE ON THE LAS BOARD

I BELIEVE I CAN ADD VALUE:

Background in Finance:

I have expertise in financial planning, management and oversight as well as effective budgeting so it aligns with the entity’s mission. I believe I can efficiently support the Board in establishing and overseeing its financial goals.

Leadership Experience:

My experience in building teams in leadership roles on the board of directors of varied companies and as senior management lead for multinational investment vehicles would allow me to support innovation and effective governance at the Board.

Coordination & Compliance:

I have had close coordination with diverse governmental entities (federal & provincial ministerial and executive bodies), certification organizations, franchisors, global law firms & financial advisors, international lenders & investors to fulfil approvals, monitoring and compliance requirements. This experience has taught me the process essentials and nuances which would allow me to support the Board in successfully supervising the school’s compliance obligations.

Understanding of Schooling Framework:

As the CSR lead for the hydropower complex, oversaw competition for Elementary School and Middle School students in our project district where more than 35 eligible schools participated with a 100 student finalists. Additionally, we provide scholarships to eligible students for vocational training, high school and universities degrees. This process has allowed interaction with various stakeholders including students, schools, district administration, governmental education departments, TEVTA and CTTI providing general understanding of the schooling framework in Pakistan & of the education ecosystem of the country. I believe this experience would strengthen the Board’s capabilities.

Community Engagement:

My wife and I have endeavored to keep engaged with LAS whether its participating in society meetings, engaging with teachers during student led conferences, joining school events (Halloween, Winter Concerts etc.) or attending SAISA in Islamabad & Karachi to support our brilliant athletes. As a Board member, we will continue our engagement with the school and its wonderful community.

In summary, I believe I can enhance the Boards effectiveness by providing a fresh prospective and assist in setting long range goals, providing strategic leadership, financial oversight, overseeing compliance, empowering our teachers and engaging with the school community.

VISION FOR LAS:

Lahore American School is an illustrious educational institution with a rich history and being a part of its community for the last 8 years has been a privilege and a pleasure.

My ambition for LAS is for it to thrive in the future not only growing in excellence but also recognition. As a Board member, I can help achieve this through continued effective governance by setting strategic goals, assist in building team to achieve these goals, establishing & overseeing budgets that align with these goals, empowering & supporting our superintend & teachers to be able to achieve these goals and engaging the LAS community especially it’s alumni cultivating pride in affiliation with the institution.

Students should always remain core focus and the Board’s policies and decisions should align with its mission to form academically, emotionally and socially successfully people who are independent thinkers and lifelong learners.

I believe that I have the education and experience to support the Board in these objectives and to make LAS an even better and recognized institute.

Hello LAS !

My wife and I have been part of the LAS Society since 2017. We have two wonderful children studying at LAS in Grades 4 & 8.

It’s been a pleasure to be engaged with LAS community over the last 8 years through society meetings, school events and SAISA in Islamabad & Karachi supporting our brilliant athletes! I am passionate about seeing our school continue to prosper and I strongly believe I can contribute in this journey.

The role of LAS board is strategic leadership through long range goal setting in alignment with its mission, financial oversight, compliance, supporting its superintendent & teachers and community engagement. Being a CPA by education and leading development of mega projects in various sectors focusing on structuring, development, management and policy compliance as well as engagement with various schools for our CSR programs in Pakistan, I am confident I can enhance the Board’s capabilities.

My ambition for LAS is to see it thrive, not only growing in excellence but also recognition. We can achieve this by continuing our student focus, effective governance, empowering our teachers and engaging the LAS community especially it’s alumni, cultivating pride in affiliation with the institution.
